HOUSTON, TEXAS — Congressman Christian D. Menefee (TX-18) introduced the College Affordability and Accessibility Act, legislation aimed at making higher education more affordable and accessible for students across the country by significantly expanding Federal Pell Grant support.

The bill would double the maximum Pell Grant to $14,800 per year, with future increases tied to inflation so financial aid keeps pace with the rising cost of tuition, housing, books, and other everyday expenses students face while pursuing a degree.
