WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Reps. Christian D. Menefee (TX-18) and Janelle Bynum (OR-05) introduced the All In for Attendance Act, a bill to help schools improve attendance and provide support for students at risk of missing classes. The All In for Attendance Act allows local educational agencies to use federal education funds for evidence-based attendance interventions and student support services to better tackle chronic absenteeism.
HOUSTON, TEXAS — Congressman Christian D. Menefee (TX-18) introduced the College Affordability and Accessibility Act, legislation aimed at making higher education more affordable and accessible for students across the country by significantly expanding Federal Pell Grant support.
The bill would double the maximum Pell Grant to $14,800 per year, with future increases tied to inflation so financial aid keeps pace with the rising cost of tuition, housing, books, and other everyday expenses students face while pursuing a degree.
